Welcome
The Army Gliding Club (Anglia) is one of two army gliding clubs, the other being Wyvern Gliding Club at Upavon airfield in Wiltshire. Both form the Army Gliding Association (AGA), which was established to introduce service personnel to the sport of gliding. We also have service veteran members and a limited number of places for civilian members.
We operate in a friendly, relaxed manner and are delighted to welcome new and prospective members.
Our reputation for flying all year round is well known (depending on the weather of course – we are driven by safety), so please get in touch via the Contact tab at the top of this page, if you’re interested.

Flying
Our fleet of high-quality, well-maintained
aircraft provides flying opportunities for pilots
of every standard, from two-seat trainers to
high-performance competition gliders.

Training
We have a highly experienced team of BGA-qualified instructors, all volunteers, helping you progress from novice to experienced pilot.

Dedicated Airfield
With full use of a 2,424 m (1.5 miles) runway, we fly from Wattisham Flying Station, home to the Apache helicopters of the Army Air Corp (AAC).
Flying takes place outside military operational activities, generally at the weekend, although we occasionally fly on Friday evenings and public holidays.

Club Fleet
The Army Gliding Club (Anglia) has one of the best fleets in the east of England for both training and competitive flying. We have a wide range of aircraft suitable for taking you through the training syllabus, without relying on other clubs.
