Army Gliding Club (Anglia) is an Army Gliding Association (AGA) club which exists to introduce service personnel to the sport of gliding, although places exist for a limited number of civilian members too.
We are based at Wattisham Airfield in Suffolk, which is where most of our activities are based. Club flying takes place most weekends and bank holidays all-year-round, weather dependent.
We operate in a friendly, relaxed manner and warmly welcome new and prospective members.
Facilities
The club operates three two-seat dual-control instructional aircraft and three single-seat solo aircraft, launched by winch and aerotow, and a motor glider.
The club also has a wide range of vehicles, huts, classrooms and social facilities to keep the fleet flying and training completed efficiently.
3 Regiment, 4 Regiment and 7 Battalion have paid for block membership for all their personnel; if you are currently posted to any of these then your membership is free for one month!
Membership
Any member of the Armed Forces is eligible to join the club. As we exist primarily to introduce service personnel to the sport of gliding, the number of full civilian memberships is limited; please contact us for details on availability and pricing.
